Monday, May 3rd at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Personal Brand & Social Media workshop
Facilitated by PENCIL staff and Industry volunteers
Brand and Marketing professionals will provide a workshop on creating and managing your digital presence and professional brand online. Students will learn strategies for cultivating an online persona aligned with their professional goals, tips for leveraging social media platforms, and tools for building their network and personal brand online.
Tuesday, May 4th 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, Anatomy of a Business Series – Digital Products Career Panel
Facilitated by PENCIL and Saatva volunteers
Evan Huston, Chief Digital Product Officer, will lead a career panel with team members across Product Development. Saatva is the internet’s premier luxury mattress and bedding brand founded on the principle that luxury sleep should be available to everyone. Students will learn about the different roles and career pathways within product development and how a Chief Digital Product Officer interacts with different departments across the product lifecycle.

Verizon is one of the largest communication firms in the world. It operates through the Verizon Consumer Group (Consumer), Verizon Business Group (Business) and Verizon Media segments. Executive volunteers from Verizon will offer insights on their professional and educational experiences as well as teach students more about their specific roles with Verizon.
Monday, May 10th 1:00 PM – 12:00 PM Project Management Workshop
Facilitated by PENCIL staff and volunteers from Harry’s
Harry's is an American company that manufactures and sells shaving equipment and personal care products via online and retail channels. Executive volunteers from Harry's will join us to discuss best practices and tips for Project Management including: Best practices for time and project management, key strategies to break down projects, prioritize tasks, and identify resources, and explore strategies for effective collaboration and working as a team. This session will help students boost productivity and work better in a team.
Friday, May 14th 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Career Panel – Women in Law
Facilitated by PENCIL staff and Women Lawyers
Lawyers from 3 top NYC law firms: Weil, Paul Weiss, and Sidley Austin, will share their experience as women in the legal field and what it takes to succeed in law. Students will learn the career journey and educational experience of top women lawyers and gain insights around legal career pathways.

COLLEGE ADVISORY CLASSES
Students in every grade are enrolled in college advisory classes to learn academic skills needed for sucess and to learn about every step leading to the college application process. Juniors and seniors work on creating their resumes and personal statements and get individualized feedback. Seniors are walked through every step of college application and financial aid application processes.
CAREER AND FOCUS PROGRAM
As a part of the HSGC core curriculum, students are encouraged to further their knowledge of local and global issues as well as their own personal interests by taking part in semester long career readiness activities. The Careers in Focus program is made up of experiences such as career days, professional panels, job shadowing days and internships which serve to not only give students first hand knowledge of issues of concern to them, but will enable them to gain important professional experience and prepare them for the work world.
