HSGC Students Plan Haitian Heritage Week
Haitian Hertitage Week is meant to bring awareness to the impact of Haiti's history and culture on all of us. It is also a chance for students and staff to come together to do something to help the people of Haiti who suffered a devastating 7.0 earthquake on Jan. 13th. The week will culminate in a benefit to be held at 5pm on January 22nd in the Prospect Heights Campus Auditorium.

HSGC Students Learning about Careers!
On Wednesday December 16th, over 40 HSGC students attended a Career Panel entitled, "Making Your Passions Work for You". On the panel were Jeff Hittner of IBM Global Business Solutions, Sarah Evans of J Public Relations, Kevin Quealy of the New York Times and HSGC Teachers Wendy Menard, David Ward and Heather Berry. The panelists shared tips and advice about how to turn the interests you love into a career that will satisfy you.

American Eagle Outfitters donates college readiness funding to Global Kids and other youth organizations.
On November 19th, three HSGC freshman- Darius Wilson, Theresa Tsang and Chi Chi Bakr, represented NYC youth at the opening of the AEO Flagship store in Times Square. The event also shone a light on AEO's donation of $100,000 to DYCD Option 1 programs. Global Kids' Young Leaders on the Rise program, here at HSGC, will be using their portion of the funds to take 9th grade students on an out of state college trip.
